Sunrise teacher honored

Sunrise 8th grade English teacher Michelle Kara has been awarded Teacher of the Year for charter schools by the Santa Clara County Office of Education.

Ms. Kara was honored at a special awards ceremony Oct. 28. She was praised for her engaging and relevant lessons and for taking intense interest in each student – so much so that many students come back years later to let her know how well they’re doing in high school with her help.
