The Sunrise Middle School Outdoor Program takes students on trips after school and on weekends to places they otherwise might never get to go – camping, backpacking, snow sledding, horseback riding, caving, rock climbing, hiking, surfing, etc. The program is funded by generous grants from Youth Outside and The North Face Explore Fund.
Sunrise believes that most youth today have what some call a Nature Deficit Disorder, meaning that kids don’t get outside enough. We believe that the best way for our youth to become good stewards of the Earth is by allowing them to experience nature firsthand and to become friends with all the planet offers.
