Luis Martinez, soccer and football coach at Sunrise Middle School, was honored at the Earthquakes game last night as one of the top ten coaches and teachers in San Jose.

The boys on the soccer team submitted the coach’s name into a contest with an essay explaining why he should win. And he did!

Coach Luis has been working at Sunrise for several years while also preparing himself for law school. He is a former student at Sunrise and graduated in 2014.

The assistant soccer and football coach is Danny Zuniga, who also graduated from Sunrise in 2014.
