The state test results for math and English from last spring were released today, and Sunrise performed very well, compared to other schools in the area as well as schools statewide.

Here are the highlights:

• Sunrise Math scores were only 1% below the state average – 36% at or above proficient, compared to 37% statewide. 
• Our 7^th and 8^th graders performed significantly above the state average in Math.
•  Our English scores were below the state average – 34.8% at or above proficient compared to 48.8% – but both Math and English scores showed well when compared to those of schools of our demographics.

Additionally, Sunrise Middle’s Math and English scores were well above those of other schools in central San Jose.
